Track 5: Quantum Key Distribution and Quantum Cryptography

Description

Quantum Key Distribution is probably the most mature of the new breed of quantum technologies. Some QKD protocols are well understood, as well as the means to implement these in practice. As a result, there are commercial products built around QKD. However, they are yet mainly designed to serve point to point links and their integration in the telecommunications and security infrastructures is still primitive. This track will study the latest advances of QKD in these two fronts, showcasing developments in the practical use of QKD beyond the usual point to point links and its integration in security protocols. This includes quantum cryptography beyond QKD, where the use of quantum signals can bring advantages to protocols such as multiparty computing, quantum bit commitment, etc.
