The track on "Quantum Technologies: Theories and Experiments" targets the research area of quantum technologies by considering both its theoretical and practical aspects. Unlocking the full potential of quantum technologies requires a close synergy between theoretical and experimental work, particularly with a focus on the idea of near-term implementations of quantum technologies in the presence of decoherence. This includes discussing near-term quantum technologies such as that of quantum sensing and estimation theory, quantum learning theory, amongst other topics in quantum theory. Experiments play a crucial role in realising the potential of these near-term quantum technologies, and can be realised in a number of different platforms including but are not restricted to quantum optics, superconducting qubits, NMR, ion traps and cold atoms.
